Two Flybe planes suffer warning light problems
09.04.11
Two Flybe planes were forced turn back to the airport they had just taken off from within minutes of take-off because of a technical fault with an indicator light yesterday. Both flights were aborted by pilots as a precautionary measure.
Emergency services were put on standby when a Flybe plane leaving the Belfast City Airport bound for Leeds Bradford declared an emergency and returned to the hub. There were similar scenes in the Isle of Man when a Flybe plane heading for Manchester made a similar swift return to Ronaldsway Airport. The emergency services were not required at either airport as both planes landed safely and without incident.
In a statement the airline said: ‘The planes have been fully inspected by engineers and have returned to service. We regret any inconvenience caused to passengers because of the delay.'
