Fog hits flights at City airport
09.06.10
Air travellers faced disruption last night when flights were cancelled at Belfast City Airport because of low level fog, the Belfast Telegraph reports. Dozens of flights in and out of the airport were either delayed or diverted because they were unable to land due to poor visibility.
The fog, which crept across the province overnight and remained throughout yesterday, was sitting at around 300ft, which meant that some planes were unable to see the landing strip and were forced to divert. This caused widespread disruption, with around 12,000 passengers affected.
