easyJet to axe Berlin flights this winter
09.07.08
easyJet said today that its decision to axie of its flights between Belfast International Airport and Berlin this coming winter is based on low demand rather that high fuel costs, the Evening Telegraph reports.
This is the fifth time in the last two weeks that a reduction in flights from Belfast has been announced by an airline. Late last month Flybe axed its direct service from Belfast City Airport to Paris, blaming the soaring cost of fuel. Aer Lingus is pulling the plug on its services to Geneva and Budapest, blaming poor bookings rather than fuel costs. And Jet2 is scaling back on its flights to Barcelona and Blackpool for the duration of the winter timetable.
In addition, it had already been announced that Wizz Air is stopping its flights to Katowice and that easyJet is ceasing its service to Gdansk this winter.
