Airport drop off charge discrimination claim

The new £1 charge for dropping off or picking up passengers at Belfast International Airport should be investigated on legal grounds, the News Letter reports. DUP MLA Jonathan Bell told the newspaper that the levy penalised certain sections of the community more than others.
He said: ‘The law is going to have to be checked on this as to whether it is discriminatory against the elderly, the disabled or those with young families. We have moved on so much in Northern Ireland with the disability discrimination act and now it seems we are going in reverse.’
