Airport worker receives MBE

Esme Maxwell, a 60-year-old mother-of-two who has worked on the information desk at Belfast International Airport since 1987, during which time she has helped countless troubled travellers, was awarded an MBE in the Queen's birthday honours list yesterday.
Mrs Maxwell, of Antrim, is the first point of contact for many members of the public at the airport and is also part of the Airport Care Team and its charity committee. She said: ‘It's not just for me... it's for everyone. I consider myself very privileged to work in the environment I'm working in, because you get the opportunity to meet and help people.’
