Bird strike emergency for Flybe plane

A plane flying to Gatwick from Belfast was forced to return to Belfast City Airport shortly after take-off yesterday, the Belfast Telegraph reports. It is reported that a bird hit the plane, causing the emergency.
An airport spokesman told the newspaper: ‘Flybe BE965, which departed for London Gatwick at 11:50, returned to the airport following a suspected bird strike. Emergency procedures at the airport were enacted. Fire and ambulance services were put on stand-by, but were not needed.'
