Aer Lingus carry one millionth Belfast passenger
26.08.09
Aer Lingus have flown its millionth passenger from Belfast International Airport, after launching flights in December 2007. Rachel Millar from Newtownards, flying home from Munich, was the millionth person to fly and received a 'golden ticket' entitling her to a year's free flights for two to anywhere on the airline's network from Belfast.
Enda Corneille, Aer Lingus director of corporate affairs, said; ‘ It's a fantastic achievement. We've taken 1.3 million bookings and flown one million passengers - and all this in just over 18 months from a standing start. We've taken more than half-a-million bookings on Heathrow alone.'
'We are giving our customers what they want, a low fare combined with high service both for leisure and business. Our success has exceeded our expectations but we remain determined to continue to provide real value for money and to seek ways to improve the range of destinations we serve.’
