De-icer failure hits flights at Belfast City

Several flights were cancelled at Belfast City Airport yesterday afternoon and eveninng because de-icing equipment broke down. Hundreds of frustrated passengers were stranded after snow and icy conditions caused aircraft wings to freeze.
The airport has two de-icing machines, but neither was working yesterday. Passengers were forced to book into hotels to wait for the resumption of flights.
