If ever you need proof of man's insignificance in comparison to the power of nature, then these basalt rocks, formed by volcanic activity over 60 million years ago, is it. Legend has it that it was built by the giant Fionn McCumhaill, who was in love with a Scottish giantess on a nearby island. Whatever mystical or geological forces were at play, this is an awe-inspiring creation.
