Belfast is a shopper's paradise. Designer-lovers should head for Lisburn Road, if a shopping centre is more your thing, Belfast offers a fantastic choice and for those that like a market, Belfast has them too.

Belfast offers an array of products ranging from the traditional to the more contemporary. A must for all shoppers is the central area that runs from Donegall Place to Royal Avenue, which is easily explored on foot. Here you'll find a good mix of stores, to it's a good place to start.

In recent years Belfast has become know for its leading lights in the fashion market, with more and more independent boutiques popping up across the city, featuring one of a kind styles to suit the individual. MOD on Chichester Street is home to the creations of one of Ireland's leading fashion designers, Michelle O'Doherty - is one such shop, it showcases the designer's own fabulous ready-to-wear collection alongside beautiful labels such as John Rocha, Nicole Farhi and Anya Hindmarch.

For a wide range of designer fashions and great selection of gifts, check out Carters on Upper Queens Street. With labels like Armani, Amanda Wakeley, Hugo Boss, Roberto Cavalli and Mulberry, it should definitely be on the designer-lover's shopping list.

There are also loads of great clothes on offer in the Lisburn Road, a few minutes from the city centre. This has long been a busy shopping area and today boasts a rush of trendy cafes, chic bars and fashionable boutiques.
