Belfast Zoo is regarded as one of the best in Europe, and is a must for all those interested in exotic and local animals.
The City of Belfast Zoological Gardens (to give the zoo its full name) are just outside Newtownabbey, on the Antrim Road.
Over the last decade it has been sympathetically renovated, and is set in a picturesque mountain park. It is a great day out for those visiting the city with children.

Opening Times: The zoo is open every day at 10am except Christmas Day. There are seasonal closing times, winter period 4.30pm and summer 7.30pm.
