Belfast Airport Guide

This is a guide to belfast city airport (for information on belfast international airport click on this link). At www.belfast-airport.info will find everything you need to know about this airport, quickly and in one place.

This is not the 'official' belfast airport website (which is at www.belfastcityairport.com for belfast city airport and www.bail.co.uk for belfast international airport), it's an in depth guide to both airports, where everything you need to know is no more than 2 clicks away.

Belfast City Airport is the Northern Ireland city's smaller airport with 2.2m passengers in 2007 compared to 5.25m at Belfast International. If it wins approval to extend its runway though, passengers could grow rapidly as, although only around 10 airlines flying to around 20 destinations from the airport currently, one is Europe's biggest budget airline, Ryanair.

The Airport is 3 miles (5 kms) west of central Belfast on the southern shore of Belfast Lough, on the A2 just off the Sydenham Bypass (A2). The airport has one terminal, with arrivals and departures on one floor.

There is ample airport parking at belfast city, with a short term car park next to the terminal and long term airport parking slightly further away. There are a couple of hotels close enough to be considered airport hotels, plus all of the hotels in belfast city airport just 10 minutes away.

Once inside the terminal, you will find the facilities you would expect at a small city airport. There is an airport lounge, a currency exchange bureau and a number of ATMs. There is a restaurant and several snack bars, plus excellent disable facilities and limited shopping facilities.

For those meeting someone at belfast city airport it couldn't be simpler. Follow the directions to the airport on our 'directions' page and park in the short term airport parking once you reach the airport (this is clearly signposted). Then head for arrivals and check the flight status on the arrivals information boards for when you need to wait by the gate.

If want to know about airport security, the history of belfast city airport, technical data, or you want to do a spot of plane spotting, we can help you with that too. Just click on the relevant link in the index boxes on the left.

And if you have a stop over at belfast city airport, have a look at our belfast airport lounge and belfast airport hotel pages, or you might have a look at the local attractions page, and take in one of belfast's sights whilst you wait for your connecting flight.
